HomeBase by Better Living Together
rational.design
HomeBase is a free housing guide for Georgians with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
2026 Anthem Awards finalist in Accessibility and in Web Design & UX.
The problem: Housing help for adults with IDD is scattered across vouchers, waivers and programs written for administrators. Families arrive overwhelmed.
My role: Design lead and sole builder, pro bono. I designed it, built it in Webflow with Claude Code, and maintain it.
Key decisions
- A Guided Path, not just a directory. A short set of questions takes a family from their situation to real options, at their own pace.
- Vetted housing options, presented in plain, objective language.
- Accessible by default. WCAG AA on every component, contrast calculated, nothing shown by color alone.
Result: Launched September 2026, with 14k views in the first three weeks.
Next: Roommate matching, so families can find others to rent or buy near each other.
